Then it was NFL that laid its eye on Steven Heyer because of his excellent all-around performance in the prestigious 2007 Hula Bowl event.

During the year 2007, he was picked by Redskins where he continued playing till 2011. During this four years’ time he proved to be a very competent player who helped his team win numerous titles across various states. It was his sheer determination and unbendable passion for football that helped him succeed so early in his career.
Heyer is the perfect example for someone who is willing to fight for his or dream in spite of numerous hurdles. Managing studies with football, being brought up by a single mother, coming from a small town; all these definitely did not make his journey easier but his determination turned out to be far stronger than these hurdles.

He also got a strong support from her single mother who even went one step ahead by hiring a personal trainer for him. Heyer’s father, who unfortunately passed away when Stephon was quite young, was the one who introduced him to the game of football.
After being with Redskins till 2011, he moved to Oakland Raiders and played for the Cleveland based team for one year. In May 2012, he was hired by New York Jets and currently plays for the NFL team, which represents the metropolitan area of New York.
